Graffiti of Bangkok – Art and Statement

Graffiti is so common that locals don't even notice
  1. Amazing. These examples highlight for me the tension I feel about graffiti. On the one hand it is defacing property that belongs to others. At the same time,it can sometimes be beautiful or be a way for voices to be heard that otherwise might not be. Sadly, sometimes it is just vandalism. Where I live it is becoming increasingly common.

    1. There is always that tension with graffiti. Here it’s generally not meant to be destructive, and it’s usually on “public” spaces: block walls and temporary construction walls. It is rarely found on improved or designed spaces where it would mar someone else’s intent.

  2. Makes me sit up straight, then relax and contemplate. I like most of these, but in particular The Missile. Speaks a thousand words.
